The area burned by wildfires in Chile during the 2023/2024 season decreased by 83 percent compared to 2022/2023. However, during that period, terrible events took place, such as the large fire recorded in the ValparaÃso region, which affected more than 8,500 hectares and left 131 people dead. Regarding the current campaign, more than 3,680 hectares have already been devastated.
