It is mainly the Mediterranean countries that suffer damage related to forest fires. Indeed, Portugal, France, Spain, and Italy are the main victims of fires, along with Romania, Croatia, and Greece. For example, 66,393 hectares were burned in France in 2022. In contrast, Estonia and Latvia were spared from fires in 2022.
