This chart shows the average Social Position Indices (SPI) in high schools in metropolitan France and overseas departments and regions according to academies for the 2021 - 2022 school year. The SPI was created to assess the social status of students based on the professions and social categories of their parents. The index ranges from ** to ***. The higher the SPI, the more the student is in a family environment favorable to academic success.
The Paris academy has the highest index for all types of high schools combined with an SPI of *, followed by the Versailles (*) and Nantes (*) academies. Mayotte is the academy with the lowest index at . Lille, Amiens, and Nancy-Metz are the three metropolitan academies with SPIs below 100.
