*Note: Double shift schools in Egypt operate for 4.5 hours each in the morning or evening. Full day schools run for seven hours including a one hours lunch break.
Many Egyptian public schools operate in double shifts, specially in urban areas with a high population density, due to high demand and limited resources.
Public schools with 4.5 hours school day shift have not enough time to cover sufficiently the curriculum.
