Unsurprisingly, meat is the food that emits the most CO2, with a record set by beef steak emitting nearly 130 kilograms of CO2. Following this product, we also find the beef burger as well as instant coffee, which emits nearly 30 kilograms of CO2. Among the products that emit the least are potatoes, beer, and bananas, each producing less than one kilogram of CO2.

These figures show the scale of the carbon footprint of certain foods, particularly meat-based products, leading more and more people concerned about global warming to opt for a vegetarian diet, especially in France.
