In 2020, just under ** percent of the artists who entered the annual Billboard Hot 100 list with one of their songs belonged to an underrepresented ethnic group. This represented a slight decrease compared to the proportion recorded the previous year. In the case of men, however, there was an increase compared to 2019. Specifically, ** percent of the male singers on the Billboard Hot 100 that year were non-white.
