During 2022, the number of tourists staying in hotel rooms in the Mexican Caribbean rose to more than ***, the highest figure in the entire analyzed period. This result comes after the recovery of the tourism sector, previously affected by COVID-19 restrictions. The recovery was already anticipated in 2021, but it was not until the following year that figures similar to those before the pandemic were achieved.
