This chart shows the languages spoken at home by residents in Alsace by age in 2022. While 70 percent of those aged 65 and over spoke Alsatian at home when they were children, only 20 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds spoke Alsatian at home when they were children, while the use of French at home has increased significantly across generations.
