According to a survey carried out in May 2026, around 60 percent of Republicans felt that news sources in the United States were liberal, compared to just 16 percent of Democrats and 22 percent of Independents. Instead, 35 percent of Democrats described news sources as moderate while Independents were more divided in their opinion. Overall, only 12 percent of Republicans described news sources as conservative.
