Overall, the survey sample comprised 452 financial institutions, including 10 city banks, trust banks, and other banks, 59 regional banks, 35 second-tier regional banks, 224 Shinkin banks, and 124 credit cooperatives.

According to a survey conducted between August and October 2024, over ** percent of responding financial institutions in Japan expected demand for ESG finance in the manufacturing sector to increase in the future. Close to ** percent of the respondents saw potential for growing ESG finance demand in the construction industry.
