Proposed number of global nuclear power reactors 2025, by country
As of June 2025, the construction of over 300 nuclear energy reactors had been proposed in the world, with around half of them in China. While the start of construction and operations of proposed nuclear plants is uncertain, in 2025 there were over 100 planned nuclear reactors in the world likely to start operations by 2040.
