During a survey among adults in Brazil published in April 2025, approximately 12 percent of the participants said they knew of online sports betting brand Betano, run by Kaizen Gaming International Limited, a company headquartered in Athens, Greece. British Sportingbet – owned by London-based Entain plc – followed, mentioned by seven percent. Meanwhile, Betnacional – run by the NSX Group, of which over half of the stakes were acquired in autumn 2024 by Irish-American sports betting giant Flutter Entertainment plc – rounded out the top three, cited by five percent of the respondents. In late 2018, the Brazilian government allowed sports betting to occur, but it only regulated that market in late 2024.
