According to a survey in 2024, over* UK doctors said they worked beyond their contracted hours at least once a week. Additionally, over ** have felt unable to cope with their workload. Such high levels of stress and workload were eating away at doctors, causing roughly ** of doctors reporting a high degree of burnout. On the bright side, the percentage of doctors reporting workload pressures have decreased somewhat in the past two years across all three measures.
