In 2024, over 40 percent of Gen Z and Millennials surveyed in the United States understood the link between oral health and respiratory illness. While slightly less than one third of Gen Z was aware of the connection between dementia and oral health, this figure was even lower among Gen X and Boomers, at 21 and 15 percent respectively. Overall, younger generations were more likely to be aware of oral health's link to specific health conditions.
