In 2024, games generated around 98 percent of the revenue from newly released apps on the Apple App Store. In comparison, non-gaming apps accounted for only two percent of revenue share during the same examined period. During the first half of 2024, core games were the highest grossing gaming sub-genre on the Apple App Store worldwide.
