Russia had the highest greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from fossil fuel exports worldwide in 2022, at just over * metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCOâ‚‚e). This was roughly equal to the country's total domestic GHG emissions that year. There were several countries whose fossil fuel export emissions were considerably higher than domestic emissions, including, but not limited to, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway. Norway's fossil fuel export emissions were almost ** times greater than its domestic emissions in 2022, at just over *** ²Ñ³Ù°ä°¿â‚‚e.
