Citation formats

Released in June 2022 to high expectations, role-playing title Elden Ring managed to live up to the hype and is currently ranked as the most critically acclaimed PlayStation 5 game of all time with an aggregate Metascore of 96 points. An expansion of the story, Shadow of the Erdtree, was released in June 2024 and also ranked among the highest-rated PS5 games.

Not all top PS5 games are platform exclusives though: second-placed Baldur's Gate 3 is available on Xbox and PC as well, and sixth-ranked The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt was originally released in 2015 before getting an official PS5 version in 2022.
