Final Fantasy was first released for PlayStation 1 in January 1997. Since then, the game received various releases and ports for PC, subsequent PlayStation generations, other gaming consoles, and mobile.
First released in January 1997, Final Fantasy 7 is widely regarded as one of the most influential video games of all time. As of June 2025, the Japanese role-playing game (RPG) has sold more than 15.1 million copies across multiple console generations and gaming platforms. Additionally, a current-gen remake is being published over three installments, the most recent release in this remake being the second game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (2024).
