¹ Due to an alignment in data reporting within the AutoScout24 group, the calculation methods were adjusted in March 2025. This may lead to deviating figures compared to earlier price calculations. Figures preceding March 2024 were adjusted accordingly.

The calculation is based on around one million used cars from the AutoScout24 database in Germany. Advertisements of maximum 18 weeks old with vehicle prices of max. 250,000 euros were considered. The vehicle age is not limited.

Figures for previous years were partially retrieved from respective earlier source reports.

In September 2025, the average price for a used electric car was * euros, which was a decrease compared to the month before. Gasoline cars cost an average of around * euros. Compared to other leading European economies, Germany recorded a lower growth rate in used car transactions that same month.
