September 2025
Germany
January 2017 to September 2025
As of the first of the month each year
The source states: ‘All data analyses are based on the information provided by the operators of publicly accessible charging points as part of the notification procedure in accordance with Section 5 of the Charging Point Ordinance. All publicly accessible charging points with a charging capacity of more than 3.7 kW that have been put into operation since the ordinance came into force on 17 March 2016 must be reported to the Federal Network Agency. Fast charging points with a charging capacity of more than 22 kW are fully covered. Information on older normal charging points and charging points with a charging capacity of up to 3.7 kW is based on voluntary reports from the operators. The allocations to federal states and districts are made based on the postcode and location of the charging facilities. The data analyses also include charging points of those operators of publicly accessible charging points who have not consented to publication in the register of charging points. This means that more charging points are included in the present data analyses than in the register of charging points (approx. 4 percent).’Â
Figures for previous years were partially retrieved from earlier source reports.
