In 2022, Asia had approximately 311.2 gigawatts of conventional hydropower in the project pipeline, planned to come online between 2022 and 2037. A significant portion of this planned capacity is concentrated in India, which represents 26 percent of the total. China and Pakistan follow, contributing 20 percent and 12 percent of the planned capacity, respectively.
