"In our data collection process in 2023, 111,428,519 accounts were searched and of these, 1,517,335 accounts were found to be Swedish. Of these, 3,516 accounts were ultimately classified as large enough (more than 10,000 followers) to be analyzed further. For these accounts, we calculated: 1) number of Swedish followers 2) number of followers one's followers have 3) retweets of Swedish accounts 4) number of likes from Swedish accounts. The ranking was then made based on a summed result of these measurements (ranking position 1 + ranking position 2 + ranking position 3 + ranking position 4 = total ranking). In this way, we have obtained a balanced picture of how many followers a person has, how "important" these followers are and how Twitter users value what the person writes. We have opted out of the option to measure the number of likes per tweet. This is because it is not possible to distinguish an open tweet from a reply, which is why those who are diligent in replying/commenting would be negatively affected."
