A survey conducted among journalists in India in 2023, revealed that ** percent of the respondents had experienced discrimination at their workplace based on their political opinion at least once. It was also found that a higher share of independent journalists perceived discrimination of this nature compared to those who worked in news organizations. A fair share of the surveyed journalists also expressed a fear of losing their jobs due to their political leanings.
