In 2023, around ** percent of women aged 70 years and older in South Korea had high cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia). This was significantly higher than for men of similar age, for whom prevalence stood at about ** percent. High cholesterol levels were more common among older age groups, as well as for older women specifically.
