There was a 422 percent increase in discriminatory posts against Muslims on X (formerly Twitter) between October 7 and 8, 2023, compared with the previous two days. Additionally, between October 7 and 13, 2023, there was a 250 percent increase in anti-Muslim posts compared with the previous week. Anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic hate speech on social media has surged worldwide since the latest war between Israel and Hamas that has reverberated across the Middle East.
