Children's color preferences was the leading factor in school bag satchel (randoseru) purchases in Japan, according to a survey conducted in February 2024. Almost ** percent of guardians buying a randoseru for their child enrolling into elementary school in that year stated that they took the child's color preference into consideration during purchase.
Randoseru refers to backpacks for school resembling ransels, used mainly by elementary schoolchildren in Japan. The bag is commonly made form leather or synthetic leather, and available in various colors. The most chosen color that year was black for boys and purple or violet for girls.
