The overall index score is given based on ranking of nine different criteria, which are weighted differently, in the 50 countries included. These are economic status (21%), political stability (15%), private participation (13%), infrastructure environment (10%), protectionism (10%), ease of doing business (10%), market size (9%), sustainability and innovation (6%), and tax environment (6%).

According to the 2023 Infrastructure Index, **** had the best overall political stability of the 40 countries ranked in the index. The three Nordic countries ** followed behind. The index ranks the attractiveness in countries based on nine different criteria, including economic status, political stability, and private participation. Germany topped the index in 2023.
