Out of each region, Eastern Africa received the most philanthropic funding on average per year from 2018 to 2020, amounting to nearly 1.2 billion U.S. Dollars. South Asia was the second largest philanthropy recipient, at almost 900 million U.S. Dollars on average per year. Western Africa followed in third.
