The average household income for a couple aged between 25 and 34 years old in each capital city was derived from ABS estimates of personal income.
Entry prices were based on the 25th price percentile of the respective geographical boundary, which gives an indication of prices at the more affordable end of the housing market deemed to be more in line with first-home buyer budgets.
Monthly mortgage repayment as a percentage of income for a couple ages 25-34 years old.
