As of February 2025, there were roughly 22 gigawatts of wind power under construction in Europe. Northern European countries accounted for the largest share of this capacity, with 14.4 gigawatts. Europe had also alomst 400 gigawatts of wind in the pre-construction stage, and some 226 additional gigawatts had been announced.
