In 2022, almost 99 percent of elective voluntary interruptions of pregnancy conducted in public health units used drug therapy, while almost 93 percent of elective abortions conducted in private health units used surgical procedures with general anesthesia. Surgeries with local anesthesia were only conducted in the private sector, at a share of almost three percent.
