The Global Slavery Index contains data on modern slavery in 160 countries.
Vulnerability to modern slavery is measured based on 23 indicators. Countries are given an index score from zero (least vulnerable) to 100 (most vulnerable).
14 of the 20 countries most vulnerable to modern slavery in the world are located in Africa. Moreover, all four of the countries most vulnerable are found on the continent, with South Sudan, Somalia, and the Central African Republic making up the top three. All three are riddled by civil war, and some among the poorest in the world, making their inhabitants vulnerable to modern slavery.
