In 2022, nearly two thirds of French people considered that justice sentences were not severe enough. This opinion on the lack of severity of the French justice system was massively shared among sympathizers of the right and far-right parties (more than **** out of five people), but much less among people feeling close to the Europe Ecologie - Les Verts party (** percent). Furthermore, almost half of them considered that the sentences were neither too severe nor not severe enough.
