In 2022, the rate of change of pending cases, or clearance rate, in French civil courts was higher than the European median for the first and the second instance, but lower for the Supreme Court. For example, the clearance rate in civil courts of the second instance was *** percent in France, compared to the European median of ** ±è±ð°ù³¦±ð²Ô³Ù.Ìý In addition, a clearance rate above 100 percent means that the court is able to resolve more cases than it has been seized with, and thus the backlog of cases is decreasing.
