When interviewed in September 2021, young people expressed a greater willingness than their elders to adopt unconventional modes of political protest. However, this willingness differs according to their political self-positioning on the left-right axis. For example, nearly half of French people between 18 and 24 years of age who position themselves on the far left said they were completely ready to demonstrate to defend their ideas, compared to only ** percent of young people who position themselves on the right.
