In 2012, **** percent of French private companies of ten employees or more had a trade union delegate and **** percent had at least one elected body at the level of an establishment, the company, or the economic and social unit (ESU). This was the case for **** percent and ** percent of companies respectively in 2022. While in general, unionism is more present in the public sector than in the private one, the rate of unionization has been declining significantly since the 1950s.
