In late 2021 and early 2022, the Polish government received bids from the US, South Korea, and France to build a nuclear power plant in Poland. It is expected that the cheapest technology would be the construction of power plants based on APR technology. The price of one gigawatt amounted to **** billion zloty. At the end of October 2022, the Polish government announced that the U.S. Westinghouse Nuclear would build Poland's first nuclear power plant with AP1000 technology (three reactors). According to the government's plans, the construction of the nuclear power plant could start in 2026 and be completed in 2033.
