A survey held at the end of December 2021 in the United States revealed that the share of adults who paid a great deal of attention to national news dropped from 54 percent in November 2020 to 33 percent in November of the following year. Meanwhile, engagement with local and international news remained stable at 21 percent and 12 percent respectively.
