In Sweden in 2018, the distribution of news topics varied according to the different news media. When looking at local news, nearly ** percent of the news coverage consisted of topics related to crime. For regional news, this number only amounted to roughly ** percent. Instead, more than ** percent of regional news revolved around social topics. For both national and international news, politics was the most debated topic, at respectively **** percent and **** percent.
