Based on a survey conducted in 2022, the share of Egyptian respondents planning to visit their hometown to celebrate Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr was higher compared to 2021. In 2022, some 68 percent reported their willingness to visit home for the festivities, compared to 56 percent in the previous year.
