Iceland is known for its characteristic geology, including geysers and volcanoes. The highest of the volcanoes is Öræfajökull, which is meters above sea level, and this is also the country's highest point. Bárðarbunga is Iceland's second highest volcano. Moreover, the volcano Eyjafjallajökull became known worldwide after its eruption in 2010 halted the air traffic in most of northern Europe.
