When asked about proposals that could make democracy work better in France, the first answer given by citizens is the recognition of the blank vote, which until now has been recorded but not taken into account in the results of the vote. The second most popular proposal is to limit the number of terms of office of elected officials over time.
In January 2022, more than half of French people considered that the democracy of their country was not working well.
