On average, around ** percent of interviewed people worldwide believe that democracy, human rights, and the rule of law are universal values all nations can aspire to. On the contrary, approximately ** percent viewed democracy as a Western value, only achievable in Western countries. However, opinions varied across countries. For ** percent of Colombians and Mexicans, democracy was a universal value, while only ** percent of Indians declared so. In fact, ** percent of respondents in India affirmed that democracy was only applicable in Western countries. This statement was also supported by about a聽 of the French interviewees.
