The number of online card payments significantly increased in Czechia in the observed period. While in the first quarter of 2017 the number of payments amounted to million, in the first quarter of 2025 it reached nearly *** million. However, a peak was reached in the fourth quarter of 2024 at * million payments. Along with the growing number of card payments, the transaction volume of card payments also grew. In the beginning of 2025, the value amounted to over *** billion Czech crowns. 

Online banking in Czechia

In Czechia, online banking use increased. Moreover, according to �����ƽ��‘s Digital Market Outlook forecast, this growth is expected to continue in the following years. Women use online banking slightly more than men, and the age groups 25 to 34 years old and 35 to 44 years old use it the most. With the growing popularity of mobile phones for accessing online banking, mobile banking apps are related. The two most downloaded banking applications in 2024 were KB+, the app of Komerční banka, Revolut, digital banking and finance, and George from the Česká spořitelna.

Czechs online shopping habits

Czechs most often pay by a card, Google Pay, or bank transfer when it comes to online payments methods. Czechs buy all kinds of goods on the internet, from clothes and accessories to baby goods. Czech women shop online more than men, and most Czech online shoppers are aged between 25 and 34.
