The once-beloved Chinese instant messenger QQ has gradually lost its relevance in China's increasingly crowded internet arena. While a considerable number of Chinese respondents would open QQ on a daily basis, almost ** percent of respondents spent less than ** minutes on the platform each day. In the early 2022, Tencent embedded video game engine Unreal Engine in the updated version of QQ as the latest move to revitalize the obsolete app and to develop its metaverse presence.
