Included in the survey were 2,993 private businesses with a turnover of at least ten million euros in 53 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 200 private businesses from nine Sub-Saharan African countries were included and form the findings of this survey. This survey included all respondents.

According to a survey conducted in 2019, the majority of the private businesses surveyed in Africa reported losses in revenues due to shortage of skilled labor. These corresponded to ** percent of the total respondents. The highest share was found in West Africa, where ** percent of respondents confirmed losses related to skills shortage.
