In a survey conducted in 2021 in the United States, 45 percent of respondents who identified as sports fans stated that expanding the College Football Playoff field from four teams to 12 would make them more interested in watching college football. Meanwhile, 28 percent of sports fans reported that conference realignment in general would increase their interest in watching college football.
