Since 2013, around supporters of the Rassemblement National (Front National until 2018) have considered globalization to be an opportunity for France. For the others, it appears to be a threat to the country. In addition, in 2020, **** of Rassemblement National supporters thought that the country's trade barriers should be maintained, if not increased, in order to protect French companies from the importation of products from foreign competitors.
Criticism of globalization is one of the main hobbyhorses of Marine Le Pen, for whom this process is responsible for the destruction of many French jobs, reinforces the hegemonic position acquired by the United States, or gives too much space to international institutions such as the World Trade Organization or the International Monetary Fund.
