A survey conducted in 2023 showed that more than half of Chileans, ** percent, believed that their country would be stronger if it stopped immigration. Among the selected Latin American countries, this was the highest percentage of agreement with this statement, followed by Peru. The majority of Colombian respondents also agreed that their country's economy is rigged to advantage the rich and powerful.
