The study took into consideration online food retailers, excluding subscription services for pre-packaged meals or ingredients for cooking. Only domestic online sales were considered (excluding export sales).
Sector statistics are provided for 43 food stores, including 39 eGrocery online stores, included in the 1000 largest Russian online stores in terms of online orders, 2 ready-made food aggregators - Delivery-club.ru and Eda.yandex.ru and 2 largest universal marketplace - Wildberries.ru and Ozon.ru.

Instagram was the most popular social media platform among online grocery retail stores in Russia as of the first half of 2021, used by nearly one half of the stores. VKontakte (or VK) followed, with ** percent of online grocery stores having an account on the platform.
